When you are fully aware of what you love to see, hear, taste, smell and touch then you are immersing all of your senses and living a life which is self fulfilling. Sometimes it’s the little things we appreciate that can make our week special and by reminding others we can inspire them to try it too.
Each week I will be sharing my senses journey. Making sure I use all my five alive and asking what you are experiencing too.
Smell
My first visit to Cape Verde meant that there was rather a lot of new beauty for me to admire and such a scent in the air. I love all things bright and beautiful so when these rather stunning hibiscus showed themselves I had to stop, sniff and stare.
Hear
I’ve been listening and singing and swaying along to sounds of the Cape Verde drums.
Touch
All things beachy. Soft sand in Sal and the palms gently sway.
See
Lots of egrets here! Could watch them for hours!
Taste
Take your pick where I stayed …
but if you live in Sal then you maybe partial to Cachupa which is Cape Verde’s national dish. It’s a rich stew of hominy, beans, seasoned meats and vegetables. Every family has their own version.
Please reply and share your 5 alive. Hope we can create a catalogue of sensations. Love
